Programs Associate

Position Brief: Actualizing the mission and vision of YCT by providing administrative and organizational support to ensure the smooth function of the institution. Supporting academic, alumni engagement and public programs. Interaction with and support of our students, faculty, and staff. Working closely with Dean and Director of Community Engagement.

Objectives & Responsibilities:

Academic Operations

Registrar:

Support the recruitment/admissions process by tracking materials, scheduling interviews, processing enrollment contracts and enrolling students.

-Manage registrar database, input class rosters and grades, and produce transcripts

Coordinate and organize all student and faculty evaluations

Assistant to Dean & Faculty Support

Assist Dean in administrative tasks and support the functioning of the academic program, i.e.: scheduling and production of academic calendars; manage distribution of course materials

Manage invoices and student and faculty reimbursement requests

Coordinate and manage audiovisual needs

Programming & Student Activities

Support Dean and work with student committees in managing logistics of all student-centered activities such as: shabbatonim, lunch & learn programs, Chag HaSemikha

Liaise with building staff for room set-ups

Community & Alumni Engagement:

Assistant to Director of Alumni & Community Engagement

Assist Director of Alumni and Community Engagement in administrative tasks

Support the functioning of the public program and alumni engagement departments

Manage logistics for Israeli Rabbinic Fellowship trip to U.S.

Liaise with communities for public programs and scholar in residence Shabbatot

This is a full time in-person position, reporting to the Executive Director. Hours: 8:45-5:30 Monday – Thursday, Fridays: 8:45-1:30. Salary is $50-$60,000, commensurate with experience. Admissions Scout (Part-Time)

YCT seeks to hire an Admissions Scout whose primary responsibility is to expand our pool of applicants for our semikha and leadership training programs.

New York, NY (or remote)

This position is available immediately

Role: 

This role requires three main areas of focus: sourcing students by using various channels to identify suitable potential candidates; outreach to prospective students; and building pipelines for future students. This person will work closely with, and report to, the Executive Director who oversees student recruitment.

The individual filling this role, will also be responsible for researching Jewish Studies programs on college campuses, and contacting those particular Hillel Directors/Professors to identify prospective students. The qualified candidate will be expected to connect with summer camps, yearlong post-college learning programs, and other like-minded institutions and non-profit organizations, in order to identify appropriate students for YCT. This position also involves working in close partnership with our alumni, who have proven to be a primary resource for prospective students.

This is a 20-hour per week position. This is an ideal position for someone looking to contribute to a highly collaborative and cohesive team, and the opportunity to expand their professional network through connecting with our 150+ alumni in the field, many of whom are in key leadership positions in Jewish communal organizations across the country.

Hours must be fixed and held between 9:00am-5:30pm, Monday – Thursday.

The person filling this role must be familiar with the landscape of the Modern Orthodox community, and be integrated in student and professional networks. They must also have existing connections within those networks, or be motivated/energized to make them!
