Rachel Tessler Lopatin grew up in West Bloomfield, MI, and has a BA in Judaic Studies from the University of Michigan and an MSW from Columbia University and an MA in Jewish Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary. She worked as the year round Assistant Director of Camp Ramah in the Poconos and the Program Director of Anshe Emet Synagogue in Chicago. Rachel is married to Rabbi Asher Lopatin, past President of YCT and Rabbi of Anshe Sholom B’nai Israel in Chicago. Rachel serves as the Alumni Wives’ Support Liaison for YCT from Huntington Woods, MI, where she and Rabbi Lopatin currently reside with their four children.
